OEM Mopar Brake Pads

Your brakes stop your vehicle. They do it by fastening brake calipers to brake rotors. This is what produces the friction, or resistance, that does the stopping. However, no caliper can press a rotor without a brake pad, or else it'd get damaged. Your model has one of four types of brake pads, depending on its body type. One is organic, the kind for everyday driving. They're dependable, they don't wear rotors out as quickly, and they don't make much dust. Best of all, they're low-cost. Ceramic brake pads work a bit better in bad weather, they don't make a lot of noise, and their dust doesn't stick as much. Metallic brake pads, however, stand up to excess heat, feel stronger, and withstand brake fade. Carbon fiber brake pads are the toughest and best performers, delivering the most stopping power and tolerant of extremely high temperatures. Most vehicles use either organic or metallic pads. However, many sports cars and performance SUVs use either ceramic or carbon fiber pads. They do the best job dispelling heat. However, no brake pad lasts forever.

What Are the Signs It's Time to Change Brake Pads?

You can determine the answer by looking for signs your brakes may be going bad. They range from warning lights and worn pad surfaces to pad damage, whining brakes, and taking longer to slow and stop. The worst symptoms, however, are vibration and grinding. They tell you that your rotors are warped and probably getting damaged because your brake pads have degraded. Otherwise, you should replace the pads about every 40,000 to 50,000 miles. If you need to get new ones, buy genuine Mopar. Brake pads made by your OEM come guaranteed to fit the model you drive.
