There are all kinds of exterior lights for a vehicle, Chrysler or Dodge, Jeep or RAM. Headlights are a common example; they have low beams for everyday driving and high beams for when it's dark. They also work as hazard lights or "flashers," informing other drivers that there's danger nearby or that you need help. Tail lights and daytime running lights (DRLs) are just as common. They show your position. Signal lights or "blinkers" indicate lane changes and turns, and brake lights show slows and stops. Depending on the model you drive, you may even have some other types of exterior lighting. Low-glare fog lights, for instance, shine low to light the way in bad weather. Puddle lights, for another example, illuminate the area below your vehicle's doors. This helps you and your passengers avoid rainwater and other obstacles when getting in and out. What Lighting Does My Car Need?

Most car lights are one of three kinds: high-intensity discharge or HID (also known as Xenon), LED, or halogen. The answer depends on your vehicle's make, model, and body style. When to change car light bulbs doesn't, though. You should replace HID bulbs every few years, as they dim.
