OEM Mopar Fuses

There are a variety of fuses used to protect the wiring and electrical equipment in a vehicle. They generally get rated for circuits with DC voltages no higher than 32, but some can be rated for 42 volts. The type of fuse most often used in vehicles is a blade fuse. There are six different kinds, depending on physical dimensions: Micro2, Micro3, LP-mini (APS), which are also called low-profile mini, Mini (APM/ATM) regular (APR/ATC/ATO/ATS), also known as standard, which are for low voltage use, and Maxi (APX), which are heavy-duty. Fuses mount in many ways. For instance, they can install in fuse blocks, often comprised of porcelain, slate, or another refractory material. You use such blocks to mount several fuses either together, or separately if they're large. For another example, they can install in in-line fuse holders, one of two standards: IEC publication 257 1968 Amendment no. 2 and UL-standard no. 512. These holders are often used with add-on electrical accessories and they save space. Furthermore, fuses can install in dual-slot fuse holders, which turn one fuse slot into two, much like a power strip. Finally, they can install in fuse clips, which can be stuck into a printed circuit board.
