Your vehicle has all kinds of gauges. They're found on your dashboard, and they're all important. Some cars have gauges for everything. Others use warning lights instead -- for example, in place of temperature gauges, oil pressure gauges, and charging system gauges. There are a few common to most vehicles, though. For example, your speedometer uses an electronic sensor to measure wheel speed. It sends the information as a signal to an electronically driven gauge, one that has long since replaced a cable and tube assembly. Your fuel gauge, on the other hand, displays how much fuel is in your gas tank. Tachometers measure engine turns in rpm, or revolutions per minute -- most useful if your car has a manual transmission and you want to shift at the best rpm for either fuel economy or acceleration -- while odometers read the total mileage a vehicle has traveled in its lifetime.
Why Don't My Dash Gauges and Lights Work?
There are several possible reasons. They include blown fuses, bad ground connections, loose wiring or other connections, a bad sending unit, or a failed and thus non-working instrument cluster. If you have these problems, you may need a new gauge or two. You can buy them from us, right here online. We sell only genuine Mopar gauges, too, so there'll be no need to worry about compatibility.
